Your Priority Seat Reservation:
Guests are asked to choose a "Preferred" Ski Date and at least one "Back-Up" Weather Date when booking their seat reservation.
When a guest makes a reservation and is confirmed for a heliskiing day with Helitrax they have made a Priority Seat Reservation. Although Helitrax will make every effort and it is a rare occurrence, a Priority Seat Reservation does not guarantee the guest the opportunity to ski on their “Preferred” ski date.
Temperature, group weights, weather, snowpack, snow conditions, terrain location, and group minimums all may affect Helitrax's ability to offer heliskiing on a guest’s Preferred Day. If Helitrax cannot provide heliskiing for a guest with a Priority Seat Reservation on their Preferred Day, an opportunity to heliski will be provided on the guest's Back-Up Day.
The Reservation Fee:
The sport of heliskiing is a shared risk proposition. Telluride Helitrax must make numerous commitments well in advance each day of heliskiing and the company will make every reasonable effort to provide heliskiing for its guests.
If in the end Helitrax is unable to provide heliskiing for any reason (including: weather, mechanical breakdown, & poor skiing conditions), Helitrax will refund each heliskiing seat of each reserved day less a $75- reservation fee.
Note: For groups larger then four the reservation fee is capped at $300- per day.
On Poor Weather Days:
Guests with confirmed reservations must be available for heliskiing until 11am. The stipulations of the cancellation policy are in effect until this time. After the 11am time period it is the guest’s own personnel choice if they wish to remain available for heliskiing later in the day if the guides feel the weather may clear.
If weather prevents heliski operations on a guest's preferred tour date, Helitrax will make every effort to offer heliskiing on a guest’s Back-Up day if space is available.
NOTE: Helitrax's cancellation policy applies to a guest's reserved Back-Up days.
Group Tour Organizer's Responsibilities:
1) Any skier making multiple reservations for a group is responsible monetarily for all members of their party. If any member in the group tour organizer's party violates the cancellation policy, the group organizer is responsible for payment.
2) Group tour organizers must see that everyone in his party receives, completes, and returns a reservation form as soon as possible or thirty days prior to their reserved ski date.
Please note it is possible guests may not always be able to fly and ski with persons from their group. The number of skiers that fill helicopter lifts (three or four) is determined by the weight and safety is the key determining factor. Helitrax will make every effort to accommodate group requests.

The following is the agreement you will be required to sign before boarding helicopter. Please read and understand fully before making your reservations...

Participant Agreement, Release, and Acknowledgment of Risk (Sample)
In consideration of the services of the Telluride School of Ski Mountaineering, Inc. (a.k.a. Telluride Heli-Trax), their owners, agents, officers, volunteers, participants, employees, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on their behalf (hereby collectively referred to as "Helitrax"), I hereby agree to release and discharge Heli-Trax, on behalf of myself, my children, my parents, my heirs, assigns, personal representative and estate as follows:
1. I acknowledge that heli-skiing entails known and unanticipated risks which could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to myself, to property, or to third parties. I understand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity. The risks include, among other things: Helicopter skiing is usually accompanied by beautiful mountain scenery. Those same beautiful mountains pose a risk of avalanches. Avalanches may be caused by natural forces including the steepness of slopes, snow depth, instability of the snowpack or changes in the weather conditions. Heli-Trax, or its staff may misjudge whether the terrain is safe for skiing or where or when an avalanche may occur. The natural beauty of the mountainous areas used for helicopter skiing sometimes hide dangerous obstacles. Those obstacles may be hidden by snow and include, but are not limited to, crevasses, ice and snow cornices, tree wells, tree stumps, creeks, rocks, boulders, forest deadfall, holes, depressions below the snow surface and varying and difficult snow conditions. The ski terrain may not have been skied previously and is not regularly patrolled. Skiers may become lost or separated from their skiing guides or skiing companions by skiing forested areas, wild rugged terrain, or bad weather. Communication in this mountainous terrain is always difficult and in the event of an accident; rescue and medical treatment may not immediately be available.Furthermore, Heli-Trax guides have a difficult job to perform. They seek safety, but they cannot guarantee your safety in a mountain environment. They might be ignorant of a participant's fitness and abilities. They might not be able to forecast the weather, or anticipate hazards posed by the elements or terrain. They are not infallible and they may give inadequate warnings or instructions, and the equipment being used might malfunction.2. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all risks arising out of my participation in this activity. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary, and I elect to participate in spite of the risks.3. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Heli-Trax from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action, which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity or my use of Heli-Trax equipment or facilities, including any such Claims which allege negligent acts or omissions of Heli-Trax.4. Should Heli-Trax or anyone acting on their behalf be required to incur attorney's fees and costs to enforce this agreement, I agree to defend, indemnify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs.
5. I certify that I have adequate insurance to cover injury or damage I may cause or suffer while participating, or else I agree to bear the costs of injury or damage to myself. I further certify that I have no medical or physical conditions which could interfere with my safety in this activity, or else am willing to assume -- and bear the costs of -- all risks that may be created, directly or indirectly, by any such condition.6. In the event that I file a lawsuit against Heli-Trax, I agree to do so solely in the State of Colorado, and I further agree that the substantive law of the State of Colorado, shall apply in that action without regard to conflict of law rules of that state.By signing this document, I acknowledge that if anyone is injured or property is damaged during my participation in this activity, I may be found by a court of law to have waived my right to maintain a lawsuit against Heli-Trax on the basis of any claim from which I have been released herein.I have had sufficient opportunity to read this entire document. I have read and understood it, and I agree to be bound by its terms.Parents or Guardian's Additional Indemnification
(Must be completed for participants under the age of 18) In consideration of ___________________("Minor") being permitted by Heli-Trax to participate in its activities and use its equipment and facilities, I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Heli-Trax from any and all Claims which are brought by, or on behalf of Minor, and which are in any way connected with such use or participation by Minor.
