Telluride Helitrax's Multi-Day Heli Skiing packages provide small group heliskiing (four skiers with each guide). Our company is well regarded and prides itself on the safety of our operation. Telluride Helitrax is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
Our high-elevation heliskiing terrain, (9,700 to 13,800 feet), is the highest in North America and is generally not affected by warm temperatures and rain at lower elevations on the continent. So even when it is spring in April with green grass in the valleys far below it is still winter with cold powder on the high north faces we frequent, believe it!
Helitrax's Multi-Day Packages allow guests to begin their vacations on any date of their choosing.

THE TOWN: Elevation: 8,750 feet; Population: 2,221 Telluride is remote, unhurried, and offers our guests the culture and variety of an alpine ski town. The Telluride ski area, ranked among the top ten in North America (Ski Magazine 2003), is truly world class. If a storm grounds the helicopter, Helitrax guests enjoy the unique option of lift served skiing at the Telluride Ski resort.
While walking the streets of Telluride be sure to stroll into the New Sheridan bar, a watering hole that dates over one hundred years ago to Telluride's colorful mining past.
THE MOUNTAINS The San Juans mountains surround Telluride. They are Colorado's youngest range at only 40 million years of age and comprise the greatest concentration of 13,000 and 14,000-foot summits south of the Canadian Yukon. Over 80 peaks reach elevations of 13,000 feet (4,063 metres) or higher.
The scenery is steep, rugged, snow covered, and consistently recognized as some of the most breathtaking in North America .
THE WEATHER Perched on the edge of the desert Southwest, the San Juans Mountains are a magnet for winter storms. Prevailingly westerly winds first carry these storms across the dry desert until they reach the abrupt 14,000-foot high wall of the San Juans and are forced to climb, this dynamic produces among the lightest and driest snow found anywhere. Champagne powder is at its preferred vintage in the Colorado Rockies.
After storms the skies clear out quickly, a phenomenon that gives southwest Colorado its celebrated blue-sky, desert-dry, powder days. If you have ever spent precious days of a British Columbia heli-skiing vacation waiting for the clouds to clear, you'll simply love the bluebird powder skiing common in the San Juan range of Colorado. THE HELICOPTER All of our helicopter skiing guests fly in the comfort of a Bell 407 helicopter. Each seat from within a 407 offers unobstructed views which soar above the jagged San Juans. Air Resources Helicopters has provided Helitrax with aircraft for nearly 15 seasons. Air Resource's equipment, pilots, and safety record is second to none.

THE GUIDES and SAFETY Over twenty-five years ago four guides founded Telluride Helitrax. Today their years of dedication, terrain specific knowledge, and training ensure our guests a safe and remarkable helicopter skiing experience
Telluride Helitrax's guides spend each day of the heli-ski season observing, recording, and sharing snow, weather, and avalanche observations from within their alpine workplace. They are trained professionals who hold avalanche, guiding, and explosive certifications, instruct avalanche courses, and above all are cautious in their decision making. Inover twenty-five years of powder skiing in the San Juans, Helitrax has never had a guest so much as caught in an avalanche. Trust our guides to lead you safely through some of North America's most breathtaking alpine powder skiing terrain.
