THE GUIDES and SAFETY
Twenty-five years ago this season our guides founded Telluride Helitrax. Today their years of dedication, knowledge of the mountains and training ensure our guests a safe and remarkable heli-skiing experience
Telluride Helitrax's guides spend each day of the ski season observing, recording, and sharing snow, weather, and avalanche observations from within their alpine workplace. They are trained professionals who hold avalanche and explosive certifications, instruct avalanche courses, and are cautious in their decision making. In twenty-five years of powder skiing in the San Juans, Helitrax has never had a guest so much as caught in an avalanche. Although the risk of avalanche can never be eliminated, you can trust our guides to lead you safely through some of North America's most breathtaking alpine powder skiing terrain.

STATE-OF-THE-ART HELICOPTER
Helitrax's Bell 407 helicopter is operated under the direction of a dedicated helicopter provider that is responsible for the aircraft's daily maintenance and operation. We use only turbine-powered equipment, designed for high altitude performance. Our guests enjoy the fact that the Bell 407's cabin is relatively quiet and allows for conversation during flight.
