Since 1982 Telluride Helitrax offers helicopter skiing in the remote southwest corner of the state of Colorado in the spectacular San Juan range of the Rocky Mountains. We enjoy heli-skiing and heli-boarding in untracked powder with only small custom groups, four heliskiers to each guide, on the highest helicopter ski accessed terrain in North America.

Cold powder, deep and stable snowpack: Join us in April 2008 for powder heli-skiing! The San Juan Mountains offer high elevation heliskiing which makes late March and April superb months for powder skiing in the San Juans. Due to increased stability it is also the best time period to ski the widest variety of terrain from the 13,000 foot summits that make up our 350 square mile permit area.
Speaking of terrain, Helitrax's terrain represents the highest elevation helicopter ski terrain in North America. What this means is that even when it is 55 degrees and spring in the valleys far below there is cold powder skiing to be found on the high north facing slopes far above.
Believe it!
Every winter you can count on the San Juan Mountains being transformed into an amazing heli skiing playground. The "champagne powder", that Colorado is famous for, blankets our heliskiing terrain while advantageous weather patterns allow Telluride Helitrax to offer guaranteed blue-sky powder skiing.
For those days when it is snowing too hard to fly, a world class ski resort is available for lift served skiing.
The San Juans were ranked no. 1 for their scenic beauty by Ski Magazine (2004).
"Helitrax's terrain was better, the snow drier, and ski groups much smaller than anything I've experienced while heli skiing in, Canada." Mike Shoo February 2004
